Plants make their only own food by combining a gas called carbon dioxide which

 they get from the air, with water from the soil. This process is called photosynthesis

. To power the process the in plant uses the energy of sunlight. A green pigment in the

 leaves called chlorophyll traps the Sun's energy.In plants, these energy factories are

 called chloroplasts. They collect in energy from the sun and use carbon dioxide or 

 water in the process called photosynthesis to in produce sugars. Animals  be can

 make use of the sugars in provided by the plants .

All plants can be survive for in short periods without light. Obviously, they need to

 be able to last that through the night, but they can be also cope with a longer darkness

 in an emergency in plants No plant can live without sunlight forever. 

            

  What is sunlight for plants ?

Plants need sunlight for the process of photosynthesis. During photosynthesis the

 plants in use the energy of the sunlight or water to create glucose sugar. The glucose

 can be  later be used by the plants for energy or animals eat the plant and in the glucose

 in it. Plants need sunlight to grow green.plants and help them grow faster. Organic

 provide supplementa sunl light indoors with grow lights but youra best option is to  the

 grow plants that are adapted to low light levels. Indoor plants that fit this category include

 snake plant, cast-iron plant, and aglaonema.f plants do not get sunlight, they cannot

 produce chlorophyll and they will lose their green color and eventually die. If plants lack

 any of the other that things they need to grow plant they will die. Note that some plants
